Individual Therapy

How It Works

Individual therapy offers a space to deepen your understanding of your inner emotional world. In our work together, we talk about your emotions, thoughts, and worries in a way that helps you understand why you feel the way you do—not just what you feel.

At times, we may explore early life and childhood experiences to uncover patterns that continue to shape your relationships, reactions, and sense of self. Making these connections can bring relief, clarity, and meaningful change, especially when you find yourself repeating behaviors that no longer serve you.

Human beings always make sense—even when it doesn’t feel that way. Therapy helps you connect the missing pieces of your puzzle, so your experiences, emotions, and struggles can be understood with compassion rather than judgment.

Individual Therapy

How it works: Therapy can help you promote the understanding of your inner emotional life. What we actually do together is talk about your emotions and worries in a way that will help you understand WHY you feel the way you do.

Sometimes we are going to have to travel back to your early childhood experiences and make a connection that will shine even more light on your issues and explain why you keep repeating some harmful behaviors. That can be very relieving and resolving.

Human beings make sense even when they seem they don’t. You just need to connect the pieces of your puzzle.

Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy

Children often communicate through their behavior. From a psychological perspective, behavior is not judged—it is understood. Symptoms and intense reactions are meaningful expressions of a child’s inner emotional world and often point to underlying conflicts, anxieties, or developmental struggles.

Children need the help of emotionally available adults to put their feelings into words. When behaviors feel overwhelming or persistent, therapy offers a way to understand what the child is communicating beneath the surface and to respond in a more containing and effective way.

For children under the age of six, therapy is primarily conducted through the parent. At this developmental stage, the parent becomes the therapeutic agent, and my role is to support you in understanding your child’s emotional needs and responding in ways that promote regulation, security, and growth. Young children do not need individual therapy in order to benefit deeply from therapeutic work.

Older children and adolescents often benefit from having their own protected therapeutic space, where they can express thoughts and feelings freely and develop a sense of emotional agency. In all cases, parental involvement is essential. A child’s progress depends on the emotional support, understanding, and consistency provided by the adults in their life.

Child & Adolescent
Psychotherapy

Children often talk through their behavior. In psychology we don’t judge the behavior, we decipher it and use it to understand some underlying issues. Kids need adult help in order to put their emotions into words. If you feel you have tried everything and your child’s intense behaviors continue, then I can show some other ways to do it.

If your child is under 6 years old, then the therapy is conducted via the parent. That means kids don’t need to work with me individually, I can help you become the therapist yourself. Older kids and teenagers are greatly benefited by having their own personal time with the therapist. In all cases, parents need to support the child’s journey and be involved.

Parenting Counseling

Parenting Counseling refers to a collaborative process between the parent and a mental health professional, aimed at helping parents gain understanding and confidence in how they respond to their child at home. Through this work, parents learn not only what to do or say, but why certain approaches are more supportive at different developmental stages.

By working together, parents develop a deeper understanding of their child’s emotional world and the subtle dynamics that influence behavior. Over time, this knowledge allows parents to respond more thoughtfully, manage challenges more effectively, and support their child’s growth without unnecessary emotional interruptions.
